Iron Tide Command
Iron Tide Command asks you to think like a commander rather than a button-masher. You move fleets across a grid map, manage fuel and repairs, and win by outmaneuvering rather than overpowering. It's slow in the best way, and the pause-anytime design fits mobile perfectly.
Controls took a session to click. Pinch to zoom, drag to pan, tap a unit to see its range — standard stuff, but the game is legible even on a smaller screen, which is rare for the genre. There's a colorblind mode and adjustable UI scaling, both appreciated.
Because a lot happens on-screen at once, this is the most battery-hungry game we tested this month. Capping the frame rate to 30 in settings roughly doubled our play time on a single charge without hurting the experience.
What we liked
- Genuine tactical depth
- Legible on small screens
- Frame cap option saves real battery
