About

Pocket Verdict started as a group chat where a few of us kept dumping screenshots and half-finished thoughts about whatever we were playing on the bus. At some point the notes got too long for a chat window, so we built a small site around them. That's the whole origin story — nothing corporate.

We cover mobile games across genres: RPGs, racers, strategy, cozy simulators, quick arcade stuff. What ties it together is the way we test. Every game gets a few days minimum on real hardware, both a mid-range and a flagship phone, because a game that sings on the latest chip can stutter horribly for everyone else.

Games get picked for coverage when something about them catches our attention — a control idea, a smart settings menu, a battery footprint that's oddly good or oddly terrible. We don't chase charts. If a small release does something clever with touch controls, it gets the same treatment as a big name.

We write in plain language. If we got frustrated, we'll say so. If a game surprised us, we'll say that too. The scores are ours and nobody buys them.
